News Note: Sentencing Commission Issues Compassionate Release Data Report
The U.S. Sentencing Commission recently published its Compassionate Release Data Report for Fiscal Years 2020-2022. The Report provides numerous useful Figures and Tables, including the one below, showing the number of grants and denials.
The top five reasons for granting relief? Here they are:
Death Watch (Note: The BOP press website announces BOP COVID-related deaths here.) No new deaths within the BOP have been announced, leaving the reported inmate death toll at 309. Eleven of the inmates died while on home confinement. Staff deaths remain at 7.
