Some twenty years ago we founded The Robing Room (www.therobingroom.com), which has since become the largest judge-rating website in the country, permitting lawyers and non-lawyers to post reviews of both state and federal judges. We have 36,000 reviews of federal judges and a large multiple of that number for state judges. An ever popular area of The Robing Room is the "Top 10" and "Bottom 10" lists. Check it out!
We created and maintain The Robing Room because we believe judges are not beyond criticism nor should good judges go unnoticed, and because lawyers and non-lawyers should have an outlet to express their views regarding their experiences with the judiciary. We know judges regularly read their reviews on The Robing Room.
Announcing Our 20th Anniversary Redesign
But after 20 years we thought it was time for an update, and so we have done a thorough re-design of the entire site, bringing it up to date with a clean, easy to navigate style and a more efficient back end.
Why Your Feedback on Judges Matters
Why is it important for you to post on the Robing Room? Because you'll help judges become better judges, receiving honest, anonymous feedback rather than the echo-chamber of reinforcing accolades they get from lawyers who appear in front of them. Because you'll be assisting your colleagues who can benefit from your experiences before the judge before whom they appear. Because you will benefit from the experiences of your colleagues. And because your blood pressure may be lowered if you have an opportunity to share your experiences.
What's Next? The Robing Room Blogspot
But we're not stopping with our re-design of The Robing Room. We believe there's a real need for lawyers to have a free, full-featured BlogSpot where they can write about whatever is on their mind -- the law, the life of the lawyer, what they've learned from their practice; really whatever is on their mind. And so we are presently designing and will soon implement The Robing Room Blogspot. We think you'll love it. So watch for announcements here and when we go live, give it a try.
Meanwhile, we'll be looking for your posts on The Robing Room!
